Music Room Academy Policies

Music Room Academy is a is an independent, mission driven, community based music education initiative.

Our facilities, programs, and ongoing maintenance are made possible through the generosity of our community, students, and supporters.

Our Focus on Music & Technology

Music Room Academy is not a traditional music school. Our approach combines music theory, technical foundations, and computer-based music production in every program. Students regularly use computers, iPads, MIDI controllers, and other music technology during their lessons. This hands-on approach prepares students to create, perform, and record music in today’s modern music environment.

Registration

To reserve a spot in one of our classes, a $240 registration fee is required each semester.
Each semester includes 12 lessons plus access to events and workshops.
These are the only fees we charge—there are no monthly tuition payments.
Any additional products (e.g., books, t-shirts, merchandise) are sold separately and are optional purchases.

Semester Re-Enrollment

Our programs run continuously, with new topics introduced each semester.
To secure your spot for the next semester, a new registration fee must be paid before the new session begins.

Scholarships

Our mission is to make music education accessible for everyone.
You can apply for a 50% scholarship by completing the application form available on our website.

Programs

All programs run for 12 weeks (12 lessons total).
Students advance to the next level each semester.
We offer three main programs, each tailored to different skill levels and interests.

Group Classes

Classes are held in groups of up to 6 students, organized by age and program.
Each student has their own instrument during class.
Classes meet once per week for 50 min.

Events & Workshops

Events and workshops are open to the public and showcase student progress while welcoming new participants.
Enrolled students attend Music Room Academy teacher–led workshops and events at no additional cost.
Special or guest-led workshops may require a separate fee.

Cancellations & Withdrawals

Students may withdraw until the end of the second class of the semester for a credit toward a future semester. (No refund.)
No mid-session refunds or cancellations are permitted after the second class.

Class Changes

We will make every effort to accommodate schedule change requests (day/time), but availability is not guaranteed.

Make-Up Classes

Students may schedule up to two make-up classes per semester, subject to availability.
Make-up classes do not carry over to future semesters.
No refunds or credits are issued for missed classes due to illness, emergency, or schedule conflicts.

Photography & Videography Release

- By participating in Music Room Academy activities, you grant permission for photos and videos of you or your child to be used for promotional purposes in print, online, and on social media.
- No compensation will be provided for this use.
- Media may be captured during lessons, classes, events, or any Music Room Academy–related activity.
- Opt-Out: To decline media use, email us at lessons@musicroom.academy.

Liability Waiver

By enrolling, you agree to release Music Room Academy, its instructors, and affiliated entities from any liability for personal injury, property damage, loss, accidents, or misconduct. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential damages of any kind.

Communication

By registering, you consent to receive emails and text messages regarding class updates, cancellations, weather notices, and other important announcements.

Medical Emergencies

Unless otherwise notified in writing, you grant Music Room Academy permission to seek medical treatment for a participant if a parent or guardian cannot be reached. Please inform us in writing of any physical or mental conditions, restrictions, or health concerns.

Policy Updates

We reserve the right to update these policies at any time. If a material change is made, we will notify you via the email address on file. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policies.
